Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) outfit Enyimba of Aba played out a 1-1 draw with Guinean side Horoya in their quarterfinal first leg CAF Confederation Cup encounter played on Sunday, March 1st.
Enyimba who finished second in their group were regarded as favourites and went ahead in the 19th minute through a direct free kick converted by Austine Oladapo. The People’s Elephant preserved the lead up till the halftime break and tried to double the advantage in the second half, however, Horoya will eventually equalize in the 71st minute through Boniface Haba.
Enyimba tried to get a late winner but failed as they travel to Conakry for the second leg next week Sunday needing to overturn the away goa advantage by Horoya.
