Watch Super Eagles feast on Cameroon at AFCON 2019
On July 6th, 2019, the Super Eagles of Nigeria feated on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Any meeting the two neighbors on the continent in a significant clash and this was no different. as Cameroon were the defending champions.
Odion Ighalo put Nigeria in front in the 16th minute but Cameroon equalized through Stéphane Bahoken in the 41st minute.
Clinton N’Jie scored the second for Cameroon in with a strike in the 44th minute, as the Indomitable Lions went to the halftime break ahead.
Ighalo would score the equalizer for Nigeria in the 63rd minute and created the winner for Alex Iwobi in the 66th minute.
Nigeria would hold on to win the game and progress to the semifinal in front of 10,000 fans a the Alexandria Stadium.
