Former Super Eagles international: Sunday Oliseh has revealed reasons why he is yet to return to coaching after about two years since his last job in Holland with Fortuna Sittard. Oliseh left the Dutch club where he helped them gain promotion into Eredivisie in 2018.
Oliseh was contacted in 2019 to coach a second-division Turkish side in a deal worth four million euros a year but he declined because he said he wanted to be with his family. Oliseh also turned down coaching job from Belgian lower division side: Waasland Beveren because the offer was “not suitable” for him.
According to Oliseh: “There were offers from teams in the lower division from Belgium but I will rather start the season with a new team,” he told Sports Extra.
The former Juventus and Borrusia Dortmund midfielder also coached the Super Eagles of Nigeria and he had quite an impressive outing with the team during his eight months spell.
Oliseh believes he will return to coaching soon while he patiently develops himself and wait for the right offer:
“What I have in mind is that I would like to be back soon, say in June, with a new club, and for the pre-season.
“I know what I want and what I don’t want and that is the reason why I have had to say no to some offers I have received, but I’m preparing for the next one.”
