OTD in 2011, Yakubu scores 2 goals for Blackburn Rovers against Arsenal (video)
On September 17th, 2011, Nigerian striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni made his debut for Blackburn Rovers in a Premier League encounter against giants Arsenal.
Yakubu would go on to score two goals on his debut as Blackburn Rovers recorded a shock 4-3 win against Arsenal.
Gervinho put Arsenal ahead in the 10th minute but Yakubu equalized in the 25th minute.
Mikel Arteta put Arsenal back in front in the 34th minute.
An own goal by Alex Song in the 50th minute leveled the scores for Blackburn who would go ahead when Yakubu scored his second of the game in the 50th minute.
An own goal by Laurent Koscielny was the fourth for Blackburn rovers, however, Mauroun Chamakh pulled one back for the Gunners in the 85th minute.
Blackburn would however hold on for the win and all three points.
