However, days of continuous rainfall especially in the South of the country has made business owners close shops because of flood within and without the markets.

The Ariaria Market is popular for sourcing and production of leather materials used in making shoes, bags and other items.
It was opened in 1976 after the old Ekeoha market was destroyed by fire. It is being managed by the Abia State Government to date.
