Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala and Barcelona Femeni crash out of Women’s Champions League (video)
Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala was in action as Barcelona Femeni crashed out of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Tuesday, August 25th.
Oshoala was named in the starting line up for Spanish champions Barcelona Femeni against German side VfL Wolfsburg.
The game was highly contested and ended goalless at the halftime break.
The breakthrough for VfL Wolfsburg would come in the 58th minute when Fridolina Rolfoe tapped in a rebound at the near post.
After going down, Barcelona Femeni made a change as Oshoala was substituted for Aitana Bonmati in the 65th minute.
Barcelona Femeni would not be able to find an equalizer as Wolfsburg held on for the win.
Wolfsburg advanced to the Women’s Champions League final where they will play the winner of two french sides Paris Saint Germain vs Olympique Lyonnais who play in the other semifinal on Wednesday, August 26th.
