Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman was on the scoreshhet as Atalanta recorded a hard-fought victory over Genoa at Bergamo.
The Nigerian striker scrambled his third Serie A goal of the season into the net in 68th minute from a square ball from the right flank.
Lookman’s joy was cut-short as the referee ruled for a handball before the ball went in. However, the goal was given after a VAR review.
The forward could have ended the match with a hattrick on the night but two of his earlier efforts on goal were saved by Genoa’s goalkeeper Nicola Leali.
Ademola Lookman’s siege on Genoa’s defense came to end as he was taken off in the 79th minute and replaced by Mario Pasalic.
The Croatian midfielder went on to to provide the assist to the goal of Brazilian striker Ederson late in added time of regulation time to seal a 2 nil win for Atalanta.
