Alex Iwobi Hails Father For Helping Him Manage His Finances

Super Eagles midfelder Alex Iwobi is full of praise for his father Chuba Iwobi for teaching him financial prudency.

The 24-year-old former Arsenal midfielder revealed that his father advised him start investing his money immediately he signed his first professional contract at Arsenal.

Iwobi revealed this during the Hoil Boys podcast recently:

“When I was sixteen, I went out with my friends to get food, and it cost about fourty pounds. I offered to pay and the card got declined, as it turned out I had run my account empty. As soon as I got my first professional contract, my dad told me to invest, and it has helped me a lot. I thank God for my Dad,”

Alex Iwobi is one of the highest-earning Nigerian players currently with a paycheck of about 80,000 pounds weekly after moving from Everton to Fulham during the recent summer transfer window.

The Nigerian midfielder has been in decent form so far this season with 4 goals and an assist in 15 matches across all competitions.

After initially struggling to settle into life at Craven Cottage, Iwobi’s recent run of form has earned him a starting shirt in Marco Silva’s matchday line-ups.
