Taiwo Awoniyi’s season is officially over after the striker underwent surgery after picking up an injury in Nottingham Forest’s two-all home draw against Leicester City on Sunday.
Awoniyi clashed with the goalpost in an attempt to score a goal with a square ball from the right flank.
The Super Eagles striker has now undergone abdominal surgery and is expected to recover in the off-season.
