Balogun Closing in on Mbappe for French Ligue 1 Golden Boot

Reims striker, Folarin Balogun is closing in on Kylian Mbappe in the French Ligue 1 topscorer race following the game with Brest.

Reims played out a 1-1 draw with Brest on Sunday, April 9 at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II.

Pierre Lees-Malou scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute and Balogun equalised for Reims in the 91st minute from the penalty spot.

The strike takes his tally to 18 goals and two assists in 29 games which is one goal less than Mbappe and Jonathan David who have 19 goals each.

Balogun has represented England at the youth level but he is eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Reims are eighth on the French Ligue 1 table with 47 points from 30 games.
