Berberine Reviews

Seewhat people are saying about the supplement online;

1. This has been a miracle drug to the person for whom I purchased it because they are insulin resistant (apparently many people are who do not know it). The person lost an incredible amount of weight as a direct result of taking this version of berberine. The only side effect seems to be a more active bowel movement schedule. Not diarrhea, just more and looser BMs.

If you are having an insulin resistance problem i.e. you can’t lose weight no matter how much you exercise and cut calories you should consider looking into whether you are insulin resistant and taking berberine. Look up the studies comparing prescription Metformin to berberine and you’ll see that berberine is literally just as effective but without side effects. Don’t believe me, look it up yourself.

And it seems this particular brand and dosage works as claimed whereas many others do not. I appreciate the “Amazon’s Choice” endorsement of this and other supplements as they cut through the morass of ineffective versions of supplements. The person who is taking this was considering Metformin. According the U.S. government–the National Institutes of Health–berberine does everything Metformin does but without side effects.

And as far as I can tell, that is absolutely the case. I am loathe to endorse any product as a weight loss drug because I have never seen one that worked without concomitant harm of some sort. But this one absolutely is a weight loss drug if–and it’s a big IF–you are insulin resistant (borderline type 2 diabetic) and considering taking Metformin. In the case I am witnessing (it’s been about 90 days–30 days on, 30 days off, 30 days on–there is no question that berberine has radically treated insulin resistance.

When the person was off, appetite was high, weight loss stopped, tiredness returned, etc. On berberine (this brand and dosage in particular) the person has lost weight, reduced appetite, increased energy, improved muscle tone, complexion, etc.–all the stuff that the imbalanced blood sugar levels were affecting. Could not give this a higher recommendation….JT

2. This product has actually helped lower my cholesterol AND brought my blood sugar levels down so that I am no longer pre-diabetic. The only exercise I do is walking my dogs daily and I do try to eat clean by cooking my own meals, but no special diet. This stuff really has helped to change my life…..Denise D.

3. I have type2 diabetes and was taking a prescription that made me sick and was very expensive. I did an experiment and stop taking my script and for the next 3 months took Thorne berberine and it lowered my A1C from 7.0 to 5.9 and it also kept my sugar levels at a normal level. My doctor cant explain it but has encouraged me to keep taking it as it is doing a great job. That being said, my diabetic sugar levels were not so high that this experiment was dangerous to my health and you should always talk to your doctor before you stop taking any meds. I follow 1500 a day, three times a day, 1 with each meal. Not all berberine is created equal, so do your research. Thorne is excellent quality Berberine and that is what I will continue to byy….Deana Millar

4. I’ve taken Thorne’s Berberine for 15 days and am in the process of reordering it! It has been amazing! I have PCOS which for me includes insulin resistance thus inability to loose weight. After taking this product for a short period of time I have had pounds shed off of me!! I’m feeling more confident in myself and am excited to keep using this awesome brand!!….Carloline

5. This product really works. I’ve been prediabetic for the past 7 years, and have been on a strict no carb, no sugar diet for a long time. I test my glucose 3 times daily, just a habit. My numbers have always been ranging from 120 on fasting to 150 after a meal with no carbs or sugar. The first week, I started noticing my numbers were lower than usual, this is my 2nd week using the product and to my surprise my range is between 90 on fasting – 110 after a meal (low carb). I had my doubts and put the product to the test and was a good excuse to eat dinner loaded with carbs and sugar something I haven’t had in a long time, I took a pill with the meal, and tested after 3 hours and my glucose was 110. I know for sure it dropped my glucose by at least 50. Had I not had the pill my glucose would have been 150-160 range. This is my experience good luck with yours….Farrah

6. **Beware and be careful*** Initially when I first started taking this supplement, as directed, I felt like I was on top of the world. Emotionally and physically. I also feel like it was helping me lose weight. Then I got severely sick, ended up in the ER with gastritis and the worst nausea I’ve ever had and completely lost my appetite and everything made me want to vomit. I’ve never felt so ill. I also eliminated every other variable and this is the only factor I can attribute the symptoms to….Chippotle

7. A study conducted in 2016 of 15 berberine supplements sold in the U.S. found that, on average, products contained just 75% of the amount of berberine listed on their labels— with some products containing as little as 33% and others containing 100% of their listed amount of berberine.

Nine berberine products contained less than 90% of their claimed amount of berberine (Pura Organics, Lean Nutraceuticals, Double Wood, VitaCost, Pure Science, Only Natural, LongLifeNutri, Swanson and Biotics Research Corp).

Six products contained between 90% and 100% of their claimed amounts of berberine — an acceptable range (Vital Nutrients, Thorne Research, Integrative Therapeutics, Nutritional Concepts, Natural Factors and Healthy Directions). No product contained more than the listed amount (Funk, J Diet Suppl 2017)

8. This gave me stomach aches and food poisoning..vomiting and diarrhea. Not ok…Aubrie
