Boniface Scores Late Winner To Send Bayer Leverkusen Into Europa League Knockout Stages!

Victor Boniface continues to show how important he is to Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen as the Nigerian striker secured a late winner over Qarabag in the Europa League matchday 4.

The Super Eagles scored an added time penalty to send Bayer Leverkusen into the knockout stages of this season’s Europa League competition.

It was quite difficult match for the German club away at Azerbaijan as the home side defended pretty well as they neutralized waves of attacks from the visitors.

Having defended well on crucial moments of the match, Qarabag eventually succumbed to pressure very late in the game as Maksim Medvedev was adjudged to have handled the ball in his goal area.

The decision was given by English referee, Craig Pawson after a VAR review on the sidelines.

Victor Boniface stepped up and he calmly placed the ball beyond the reach of Andrey Lunev who had no chance of saving the spot kick.

Boniface’s goal his his third of the campaign after 4 matches as Bayer Leverkusen progress to the next round wining all their opening four matches.
