Breaking: CAF postpones all 2021 AFCON Qualifiers including Super Eagles vs Sierra Leone match!

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has postponed all the various qualifiers including the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. All 2021 AFCON qualifiers scheduled between the 25th and 31st of March has now been postponed for safety reasons.

According to CAF, the postponement had to come as a precautionary measure in as much as the virus is not widely spread yet in the continent as opposed to most parts of Europe where it is spreading rapidly with over 1000 deaths recorded already.

The governing body believes that the majority of players that will be involved in the qualifiers will be coming from Europe where the virus is already ravaging some parts of it. In addition, African governments have taken strong restrictions on travel, lockdowns as well as the quarantine of people already infected with the virus on the continent.

The governing body assures member nations of communicating new dates for the qualifiers according to the evolution of the coronavirus.
