CAF bans Enyimba captain, Austin Oladapo for 12 months!

The Confederation of African Football, (CAF) has placed a 12-year ban on Enyimba’s captain, Austin Oladapo after the midfielder was found guilty of using a banned substance.

According to CAF, Oladapo’s urine tests which were collected in the match between Pyramids of Egypt and Enyimba in a CAF Confederations Cup match, contained a banned substance, Prednisolone/Prednisone.

CAF, in a statement on itsĀ  website also stated that the player declined the offer of getting the analysis of sample B of the result of his tests through his club and the NFF

Although, according to CAF, Enyimba had initially indicated the banned substance found in his urine could be traced to the prescribed medication the player was taking at that time.

It also added that Eyimba’s team doctor communicated the prescribed medications to the football body.

However, CAF observed that the player didn’t apply for therapeutic use exemption before using the medication and that he is in charge of the substance that enters his body.

Consequently, Austin Oladapo has now been banned from all football-related activities effective July 4.
