Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke scored his first (La Liga) goal for Sevilla in the club’s 2-1 home win over Villadolid on Tuesday evening.
The 26-year-old forward came on as a second half substitute before scoring the winner for his team on the 85th minute.
David Torres’ unfortunate own goal on the 45th minute gave Los Nervionenses the lead an uninspiring forty-four minutes of football.
Kike Perez restored parity in the match 9 mimutes after restart as his shot was deflected into the goal.
The match was heading for a draw with 5 minutes left on the clock until the introduction of the pacy Nigerian winger.
Chidera Ejuke won the ball in Valladolid’s final third, dribbled two defenders before powering a right-footed strike into bottom left corner to give Sevilla the lead amd eventually maximum points.
The goal marks Ejuke’s first for Sevilla and the former CSKA Moscow winger has had a very decent start to life at the Spanish club since he arrived on a free transfer from Royal Antwerp this summer.
