Hundreds of demonstrators and human rights activists are calling on the Pakistani government to work to end Pakistani neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui’s ongoing detention in the United States.
Protesters gathered outside the Pakistan Consulate in New York on Wednesday, carrying images and banners, to condemn Siddiqui’s plight and call on the Pakistani government to aggressively seek her quick release and repatriation.
As of Oct. 20, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 167 new Covid-19 infections in the country.
According to NCDC data posted Thursday morning, 178 people have recovered from the illness, while two more fatalities have been reported.

The 167 new illnesses in the country were detected in Taraba-109, Lagos-17, Plateau-16, Bauchi-11, Rivers-6, Delta-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Imo-2, and Bayelsa-1, according to the Public Health Agency.
