D’Tigress Receive House Documents And National Honours As Federal Government Fulfils Pledges

The Federal Government of Nigeria has fulfilled its earlier promise to members of Nigeria’s women’s national basketball team, D’Tigress, with the official presentation of house documents and national honours after winning the Women’s Afrobasket Championship for a record fifth consecutive time.

The DTigress won all five games in the competition, including a pulsating 78-64 win over Mali in the final.

Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, alongside the Director General of the commission, Bukola Olopad,e carried out the presentation in Lyon, France, on Sunday evening during the FIBA World Cup qualifiers

The National Sports Commission also assured the players that the $100,000 reward for each player after the historic feat will be disbursed soon.

The D’Tigress are currently competing at the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in Lyon, France, and have won two and lost two matches.

However, DTigress have qualified for the FIBA Women’s World Cup as African champions, which is scheduled to take place in Germany later in the year.
