The Super Eagles of Nigeria had their first training session this evening at the newly-renovated Samuel Ogbemudia stadium ahead of Friday’s match against Sierra-Leone.
A total of sixteen players including a special one, Edo State deputy governor, Mr Philip Shuaibu trained with the players on the lush green pitch of the stadium.
The deputy governor took part in what is called “middle man” in the local football parlance alongside one other player as they gear up. for the match.

The players who took part in the first training session under the floodlights include Ahmed Musa, William Troost-Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Joe Aribo, Leon Balogun, Kevin Akpoguma, Sebastian Osigwe (GK), Zaidu Sanusi Tyronne Ebuehi, Etebo Oghenekaro, Maduka Okoye (GK), Ikechukwu Ezenwa (GK), Chidozie Awaziem, Kelechi Iheanacho and Emmanuel Dennis.
Other players expected to join the Super Eagles camp include Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Chidera Ejuke, Semi Ajayi, Kenneth Omeruo, Frank Onyeka and Jamilu Collins.
