Nothing can be more delightful than scoring on one’s debut for a new club. Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Dennis is a happy man after he scored a goal and provided an assist in Watford’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa in the Hornet’s Premier League opener.
Emmanuel Dennis scored the first goal of the afternoon as he pounced on a rebound in the box in the tenth minute as he left Emiliano Martinez helpless.
The Super Eagles striker who joined from Club Brugge in the summer capped off his wonderful display with an assist for Ismaila Sarr’s goal as Watford doubled their lead shortly before halftime.
Emmanuel Dennis is now the fourth Nigerian player to score in their Premier League debut. The three other players are:
- John Utaka (Portsmouth vs Derby County, August 2007)
- Odion Ighalo (Everton vs Watford, August 2015)
- Osaze Odemwingie (Westbrom vs Sunderland, August 2010)
Super Eagles duo Oghenekaro Etebo and Williams Troost-Ekong played all 90 minutes as Watford marked their return to the Premier League with a 3-2 victory at Vicarage Road.
