Enugu Rangers will take on US Zilimadjou of Comoros in the preliminary round of the incoming CAF Champions League season.
The draw for the seasonal competition took place virtually on Thursday as different clubs on the continent got to know their opponents in the preliminary round as well as their potential opponent in the penultimate round.
The reigning Nigeria Premier Football League champions qualified for the preliminary round after winning the league for the first time since 2016.
US Zilimadjou, like Enugu Rangers are also champions of the Comoros league. Although, they last won the it in the 2021.
The first leg of the encounter will take place between the 16th and 18th of August while the second leg is scheduled for 7 days later.
The winner over two legs will take on whoever wins between St Louis of Sychelles and Sagrada Esperança of Angola in the final round of Qualification.
Enugu Rangers last played on the continent in 2017 but lost out in the first round to Egyptian side Zamalek 5-3 on aggregate score.
On the flip side, Remo Stars, Nigeria’s second representaive on the CAF Champions League will face-off against ASFAR Club of Morocco.
The winner after two legs will play Libya 1 or Sudanese side, El Merreikh for a place in the group stage of the competition.
