Enyimba Football Club have appointed Stanley Eguma as its new head coach following the departure of Yemi Olanrewaju.

The club parted ways with Olanrewaju on Saturday after a challenging nine-match winless streak.

His exit was officially confirmed through a statement on Enyimba’s X page.

Eguma, a highly experienced coach in the league, takes over as the new head coach of the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions.

He previously coached Rivers United for 16 years before being dismissed in May due to a disappointing run of results.

Under his leadership, Rivers United won their first-ever league title in the 2021/2022 season, following the merger of Dolphins and Sharks.

Eguma will now aim to reverse Enyimba’s fortunes as the club’s 17th head coach.

Enyimba are currently 11th on the Nigeria Premier Football League log with 23 points after 15 matches.

Stanley Eguma’s first game in charge will be against Bendel Insurance at the Aba International Stadium on New Year’s Eve.
