going from third to first with a world-leading 7.17m, Brume produced the leap of her life in the final round of the long jump.
the Nigerian record set by Chioma Ajunwa when winning gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics was shattered by Brume as the world bronze medallist added five centimeters.
Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare took to his official Twitter page to congratulate Ese Brume.
