Falconets Held To One-all Draw In Tanzania!

The under-20 women’s football team of Nigeria, the Falconets were held to a one-all draw by Tanzania in the first leg of their FIFA Under-20 World Cup qualifier.

The match took place at the Chamazi Complex, the home ground of Azam FC on Sunday afternoon.

The first half had both teams missed a couple of chances as they tried to take control of the game even though Christopher Danjuma’s ladies were quite dominant in possession.

The Tanzanian ladies rode on the support of their home fans but the Falconets held their ground.

The deadlock was eventually shattered in the second half and it was Chioma Olise who scored via a calm finish to give the Falconets the lead.

However, the lead only lastes for 13 minutes as the home side equalised in the seventieth minute via Hasanat Ubamba.

The match ended one-all with the return lef slated for seven days from today at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

The winner of the third round will qualify for the final round before booking a ticket for the tournament in Colombia next year.
