Five items to cure sore throat when a doctor is not readily available

Sore throat, that pain or irritation in the throat which occurs with or without swallowing and often accompanied by infections such as a cold or flu can be pretty inconvenient.

Sore throats are divided into types, based on the part of the throat they affect: Pharyngitis affects the area right behind the mouth. Tonsillitis is swelling and redness of the tonsils, the soft tissue in the back of the mouth. Laryngitis is swelling and redness of the voice box, or larynx.

Most sore throats are caused by infections, or by environmental factors like dry air. Some of its causes include overuse of voice, a burn from hot food, very dry mouth or sleeping with the mouth open and, recently, a symptom of the Coronavirus.

So, if you have sore throat and you are absolutely sure it’s got nothing to do with Covid 19, you can try the following if a doctor is not readily within reach.

– Get a glass cup of milk (you can dissolve powdered milk in water to get a glass cup)
– Add a teaspoon of turmeric to it.
– Add half spoon of ginger powder to it.
– Add a pinch of black pepper or cayenne powder can also be used.
– Add a teaspoon of honey to taste (optional)

Pour the mixture into a pot and bring to boil for five minutes. Bring down and allow to cool then drink everything. Do this once daily, depending on the severity of the sore throat.

If pain persists however you will need to see a doctor for a proper medical diagnosis.
