Jennifer was born in New York but moved to Casper with her family in 1976. The 40-year-old had two sons from two previous marriages, whom she adored. She went to college after graduating from high school in 1985.
Jennifer worked as a waitress before starting her own cleaning business. Jennifer was dating Donald Rolle at the time, and they were on a date on November 3, 2007, at a bar in Evansville, Wyoming. She had no idea that these were the last few hours she’d be seen alive.
How did Donald Rolle kill Jennifer Randel
Jennifer Randell called 911 around 9:30 p.m. on November 3, 2007, to report that she was being held against her will and had no idea where she was being taken. The authorities searched for her all night but were unable to locate her. The following morning, a rancher called in to report a car in a ditch in a remote area of Casper. Jennifer was discovered dead inside the vehicle by the police.
Jennifer was subjected to a particularly brutal beating. She’d been stabbed in the back of her neck and had defensive cuts on her hands. She’d taken several blows to the head and neck. An autopsy revealed strangulation as well as multiple broken bones and bruises.
The medical examiner determined that brain swelling caused by blunt force trauma to the head was the cause of death.
Who killed Jennifer Randel Donald Rolle?
The police immediately identified the perpetrator. Jennifer identified Donald Rolle as the person who took her during the 9-minute 911 call.
During the call, Jennifer could hear signs of a struggle, and she was terrified that her attacker would kill her. Donald was overheard threatening to cut out her eyes. Donald was standing outside the car when the cops arrived the next morning.
After noticing the officers, Donald returned to his car and cut his wrists. He was apprehended and detained. Then they discovered Jennifer’s body. The investigation revealed that Donald and Jennifer had an on-again, off-again relationship for several years.
Donald had a history of being violent toward her. Donald was prohibited from contacting Jennifer as part of his probation terms.
Regardless, they were at the bar on November 3 together. Donald attempted to start a fight with a man he suspected of having an affair with Jennifer. The bouncers, however, stopped him and kicked him out.
Jennifer also left with him at that point. Jennifer’s sons testified at Donald’s trial that they had witnessed Donald hitting their mother in the past. Donald admitted to beating Jennifer, but claimed he did so only because she attacked him with a knife first.
Where is Donald Rolle in 2022?
A jury took about six hours to convict Donald, 47, of premeditated first-degree murder, felony murder, and kidnapping in October 2008. The defense attempted to argue that the attack was brief and only amounted to manslaughter.
The prosecution presented additional evidence of Donald’s violent behavior with previous girlfriends. Donald was unapologetic during his sentencing hearing. “You found me guilty,” he said. It’s now time to take responsibility and pay the piper.” Despite the fact that the death penalty was sought, the jury sentenced him to life in prison.
According to prison records, he is still imprisoned at the Wyoming State Penitentiary in Rawlins, Carbon County.
