Thirty-six time Serie A Champions, Juventus have parted ways with Maurizio Sarri after just a season at the club.

Maurizio Sarri’s sack comes after the Old Ladies disappointing exist from the Champions League where they couldn’t get past French Ligue 1 side, Lyon as the score ended 2-2 on aggregate.

The club statement reads;

“Juventus announces that Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his post as coach of the first team.”

“The club would like to thank the coach for having written a new page in Juventus’ history with the victory of the ninth-consecutive championship, the culmination of a personal journey that led him to climb all the divisions of Italian football.”

Sarri became the oldest Manager to win the Serie A at the age of 61 as he led the Bianconerris to their 9th consecutive Scudetto title.

However, Sarri’s style “Sarriball” has come under severe criticisms at the club and the manager at one point in time admitted that the players haven’t gotten a full grasp of his style.

After losing 1-0 to Lyon in the first leg, Sarri admitted that his players didn’t move the ball quickly but he promised to continue working with them till his style “sooner or later this concept will get into their heads”.
