Meet Kiddwaya, the billionaire’s son who wants to become Big Brother Naija’s millionaire

As the dictum goes, some people are born great, some have greatness thrust in them while some make their own greatness.

Such is the story of Kiddwaya, the 2020 Big Brother Naija housemate hoping to be the last man standing to take home the reality show’s N30m prize money.

However, Kiddwaya is not your regular housemate who’s hoping to win the big bucks and break a family poverty cycle like most previous winners.

As a matter of fact, Kiddwaya whose real name is Terseer Waya is the son of prominent billionaire business mogul, Terry Waya.

Terry Waya was always in the news in the 2000s and was prominent in the corruption and money laundering case of former Bayelsa state governor Diepreye Alamiesiagha.

The senior Waya was involved in some high profile criminal cases in the United Kingdom. In a landmark ruling in 2008, a Southwark Crown Court ordered Mr. Waya, then 43, to pay a fine of more than 1.5 million pounds sterling within six months or to go to jail for thirty months.

That was the second major conviction within a year for Waya in a British court. He was earlier sentenced for obtaining money transfer by deception.

Since then, Waya has operated under the radar until his son brought him to public attention again.

The grand prize for this year’s edition includes a N30m cash prize which makes this season’s winnings the biggest since its debut back in 2006 and highest prize for a reality TV show on the continent.

The breakdown of the grand prize for BBNaija season five includes a N30m cash prize; a two-bedroom apartment courtesy Revolution Plus; a top of the range SUV from Nigerian automaker, Innoson Motors; a trip to Dublin courtesy Guinness; home appliances courtesy Scanfrost; a trip to Dubai packaged by Travelbeta; a year’s supply of Indomie noodles, Munch it and Colgate toothpaste; a year’s supply of Pepsi, a branded chiller and a trip to watch the UEFA Champions League finale; and a brand new Oppo mobile smartphone.
