NPFL: Kwara United Hand Remo Stars Fourth Consecutive Loss

Kwara United extended Remo Stars losing streak across all the competitions as the Harmony Boys secured a win in front of their home fans.

The defending champions came into the tie looking to end their three-game losing streak across all competitions in Ilorin but suffered yet again another loss.

Remo Stars started the game quite well with Samson Olasupo and Samuel Anakwe with chances early on in the tie.

Junior Aimufua put the host ahead after 26 minutes as he latched on to a throw in from former Remo Stars defender Ogunribide Oluwaseun.

Babatunde Bright doubled the lead for the host in the 77th minute with a thunderous strike to put the game out of Remo Stars reach.

Junior Aimufua bagged his brace three minutes from time with a brilliant flick off Yahaya Ibrahim’s pass.

Jabbar Malik pulled a goal back for Remo Stars in added time as the game ended 3-1 in favour of Kwara United.

Remo Stars have now lost three games in a row across all competitions as they drop to 17th on the log with eight games played but with three outstanding matches.

Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance remain winless in six matches in the league.

Othuke Egbo’s 41st minute equalizer denied the host maximum points after Alex Owwilayefa’s opener in the ninth minute.
