NYSC maintains mandatory Covid-19 vaccination for Corps members 2

Brig. Gen Shuiabu Ibrahim, Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), has revealed why the Corps has made COVID-19 immunisation essential for corps members before they are assigned to their major assignments.

According to Ibrahim, the NYSC’s decision was made in accordance with the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccination policy, which would require civil workers to produce proof of COVID-19 immunisation before being admitted to public positions beginning December 1, 2021.

He made this known at Kaima Community in Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area of Bayelsa State during a brief opening/swearing-in ceremony of 2021 Batch C, Stream 1 corps members deployed to the State for their one-year national service.

The state coordinator, Mrs Ojugo Elizabeth Iyowuna, represented the NYSC boss, who advised the 1450 corps members stationed in Bayelsa to continue to follow the COVID-19 preventive guidelines.
