Osimhen helps 10-man Galatasaray win away at Silvasspor

Victor Osimhen had another impreasive performance for Galatasaray as the champions secured a win away at Silvassoor on Sunday afternoon.

Deapite playing with a man down for more than 75 minutes, the cahmpions edged the home side 3-2 to maintain top spot on the log.

Osimhen was on for the about an hour and fifteen minutes of the match as he recorded his 7th league goal of the season.

Galatasaray found themselves in a difficult situation after Metehan Baltaci got sent off for a reckless fifteen minutes into the match.

Silvasspor took advantage of the numerical advantage as he Garry Rodriguez put them ahead via a rebound in the box.

However, Yunus Akgun equalized for Galatasaray on the 36th minute after his poor shot somehow made it into back of the net – a howler from the goalkeeper.

Dries Mertens and Osimhen both had a shot on target each in quick succession but Djordje Nikolic made fantastic saves to deny them.

Osimhen eventually gave Galatasaray the lead via a penalty just before halftime after he was fouled by the goalkeeper

Baris Yilmaz kept his cool in the box from Akgun’s pass to increase Galatasaray’s lead a few minutes into the second half.

The home side scored again to make the score 3-2 but Galatasaray held on to their lead to the blast of the final whistle.

Galatasaray lead the Turkish Super League with 36 points after 14 matches.

Osimhen is 7th on the top scorers chart with 7 goals and 3 assists in 9 matches.
