Victor Osimhen’s impact at Napoli over the last twelve months cannot be overemphasized. The Nigerian striker led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years.
Osimhen won the golden boot award with 26 goals – the most by an African in the Serie A. The had 31 goals in all competitions.
The Super Eagles striker exploits for club and country also led earned him the African Player of the Year award for 2023 as he ended the 24-year wait for Nigeria.
The 24-year-old striker signed a contract extention with Napoli in December which will see him remain at the coub till 2026.
However, Italian journlist, Dario Canovi who spoke via Napoli Magazine believes that Osimhen will leave Naples at the end of the season.
He added that the contract renewal is a ploy to increase the valuation of the player ahead of time.
“It is a renewal that simply serves to increase the price. In my opinion, he will leave Napoli in June”
Osimhen has been linked some clubs in the Premier League including Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. Real Madrid has also been reported to be interested in bringing the Super Eagles striker to the Santiago Bernabeau next season
