Shagari Cole, the man who gained nationwide notoriety for fulfilling his promise to trek from Wukari local government area of Taraba state to Abuja in celebration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the 2015 Presidential election is currently battling stroke and requires urgent financial assistance.

Cole, whose real name is Shagari S. Bawa, has been battling health challenges for a long while and is on admission at the Bethel Hospital, Wukari.

An ex-footballer who formerly played for Wukari United, Unity Bank FC, and All Stars FC all of Wukari is an APC supporter.

It could be recalled that the ex-footballer turned politician promised to undertake the trekking expedition should Buhari win the election and he fulfilled his promise post election.

However, it has not been confirmed if his recent health challenges is directly connected to the approximately 400km journey which he undertook on foot five years ago.

Shagari Cole is yet to regain consciousness since he was admitted into the hospital for the past five days, according to an SOS by one of his friends.

In a Facebook post, the friend also called on the APC Wukari LG Branch, APC Taraba state Chapter, Wukari Football Players Union and other well-meaning Nigerians to come to Cole’s aid and also pray for God’s intervention.
