Simy Nwankwo bags 13th Serie A goal of the season in Crotone’s home loss!

Nigerian striker, Simy Nwankwo continues to find the back of the net in the Serie A as he bagged his 13th league goal of the season despite Crotone’s 2-3 home loss.

Simy Nwankwo got on the score sheet in the 40th minute via a spot-kick as he doubled his side’s lead.

Simy Nwankwo will most likely end the season with the record of the most goals scored by a Nigerian in Serie A in a season.

The record was previously held by Obafemi Martins who scored 11 goals for Inter Milan in the 2004/2005 season but Simy’s brace against Lazio last week made him the new record holder.

Victor Osimhen will have to do the unthinkable to first equal Simy’s current goal tally before surpassing it with 11 matches to the end of the season.

The Napoli striker has 3 goals in 12 matches this season due to a lengthy lay-off and a positive test for COVID-19.
