Super Eagles Move One Spot in Latest (June) FIFA World Rankings

Nigeria’s men senior football team, Super Eagles moved one spot higher in the latest FIFA rankings for the month of June. The Super Eagles are now the 39th best team in the world according the world football governing body with 1486.48 points.

Recall that the Super Eagles recently sealed their qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire with a 3-2 victory over Sierra Leone in Monrovia.

The team will take on Sao Tome and Principe at home in September in their last match of the qualifiers.

While the team moved on spot in the world rankings, they maintained their spot as the sixth best team on the continent behind defending the likes of Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, defending champions Senegal and Egypt.

Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria make the top five teams in Africa while World champions, Argentina maintains top spot. France, Brazil, England and Belgium make the top five best team in the world accordingly.
