Nigeria has risen to 32nd in the world, surpassing hosts Cameroon, finalists Egypt, and Tunisia, who ended Nigeria’s AFCON run.
Senegal, the newly crowned African champions, remain the highest ranked African team and the 18th best in the world.
Morocco’s Atlas Lions are second in Africa and 24th in the world, with Nigeria third, Egypt 34th, Tunisia 36th, and Cameroon 38th.
Algeria, the former African champion, has dropped to 43rd, Mali has dropped to 48th, and Ivory Coast has dropped to 51st.
Other African countries who made the top 100 in the latest FIFA rankings are Burkina Faso, 56th, Ghana, 61st, Congo DR, 66th, South Africa, 68th and Cape Verde, 73rd
