Union Berlin star striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has arrived Super Eagles camp in Abuja ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations billed to start on the 9th of January, 2022.
The former youth international was one of the early arrivals alongside Enyimba’s goalkeeper, John Noble, and Orlando Pirates defender, Olisa Ndah. Other foreign pros are expected to join the team onwards while the UK-based stars are expected to start arriving from the 3rd of January.
Awoniyi has been very impressive for the German outfit so far this season with 14 goals in 27 appearances.
The 224-year-old will contend with Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, Odion Ighalo, and Emmanuel Dennis for a place in the starting line-up ahead of the competition.
The Super Eagles will kick-start the quest to win their fourth title against the Pharaohs of Egypt on the 11th of January.
