Throwback: Real Madrid beat cross-town rivals Atlético Madrid 5–3 on penalties to win 2016 UEFA Champions League (video)

On 28 May 2016, Real Madrid beat their cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid 5-3 on penalties to win the 2016 UEFA Champions League.

Real Madrid went ahead in the 15th minute but the halftime advantage was canceled out by Yannick Carrasco in the 79th minute.

The game played in front of 71,942 at the San Siro, Milan could not be decided at the end of 90 minutes and the extra time and hence penalties.

Lucas Vázquez, Marcelo, Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, and Cristiano Ronaldo all scored their penalties for Real Madrid.

Antoine Griezmann, Gabi and Saúl Niguez all scored for Atletico Madrid with only Juanfran missing.
