Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface rescued Bayer Leverkusen from defeat as he scored less than 10 minutes to the end of the match to give his side point against Borussia Dortmund.
Norwegian defender, Julian Ryerson had earlier given the away side an early lead as Niclas Fullkrug’s pass found him in space in the box before he slotted the ball into the middle of the net.
Bayer Leverkusen struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first thirty mimutes of the match as Borussia Dortmund defended their lead.
German winger Florian Wirtz thought he had equalised in added time of first-half but his goal was ruled as offside after VAR review.
Xabi Alonso’s side sustained their momentum im the second-half and the goal eventually came in the 79 minute.
Victor Boniface buried a low strike into the bottom-left corner of goal as he equalized with 10 minutes to the end of the match.
The Nigerian striker was close to scoring the match winner a few mimutes later but Gregor Kobel saved his effort towards goal.
The match ended one-all as Boniface’s goal ensured that Bayer Leverkusen remain unbeaten in the league this season after 13 matches.
