True to his prediction, Chelsea emerged champions of Europe after beating English rivals Manchester City last Saturday and, now Mumini Alao, veteran journalist and co-anchor of Sports Planet Podcast has advanced reasons why he tipped the Blues for glory.
Speaking to co-anchor Kayode Ogundare on the latest episode of the Podcast, Mumini Alao said appointing Thomas Tuchel as manager was the turning point for Chelsea.
“It was not an emotional prediction. I wanted Manchester City to win because of Pep Guardiola but when I saw what manager Thomas Tuchel has brought to Chelsea, I thought they would be difficult to beat, When they now beat Manchester City two times in a row, I concluded they were going to win the Champions League…”
