Robinson worked as a tech consultant after graduating from Howard University and subsequently moved to New York City to seek roles in theater and stand-up comedy. He relocated to Los Angeles in the mid-2000s. His television debut was on MTV’s improv game program, Wild ‘n Out, where he appeared as an original cast member for four seasons alongside comedians such as Katt Williams and Randall Park.

Leonard Robinson has also performed in theaters across the country, including “The Exonerated” at The Culture Project (Off-Broadway), Williamstown Theatre Festival, New York Fringe Festival, and Studio Theatre in Washington, DC. He subsequently studied improv at the world-famous Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and IO West, and he took part in the NBC Stand-Up for Diversity.[1]

Leonard wrote the screenplay for Lil Jon and LMFAO’s “Drink” music video, which has over 7 million views on YouTube alone. Leonard was chosen to perform in the prestigious CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase as part of their first writer’s room in 2019. Leonard is now a primary company member at The Groundlings, where he writes, directs, and performs.

As Taurean, Robinson joined the cast of Insecure in 2018 for the third season, a part he would hold through the program’s conclusion. Before being chosen for the Taurean part in Insecure, Robinson had tried out for several other parts, including Lawrence in the first episode. He was selected for the part personally by Prentice Penny, the show’s creator.

She attended Linden Hall, the oldest all-girls boarding school in the nation, during her senior year of high school in the tiny Pennsylvanian town of Lititz.
