Burna Boy, Olamide, Simi and a host of other Nigerian entertainers have called on the Ugandan government to release the two Nigerian singers that were arrested in the country over the weekend.

Stanley Oma Didia otherwise known as Omah Lay and Temilade Openiyi known as Tems and one Muyiwa Adeniyi were arrested by the Ugandan Police for breaking COVID-19 regulations after their performances at The Big Brunch, which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda.

The Ugandan Police via a tweet said that duo will be charged to court for negligence and “doing acts likely to spread infectious diseases C/S 117 of the Penal Code Act.

The Nigerian trio of Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi have been charged to court in Makindye on charges of Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act.

The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP.
They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans. All remanded till Wednesday 16.12.2020.

However, the likes of Burna Boy, Olamide and other entertainers in the country have called fir their immediate release. See tweets;

The Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Abike Dabiri-Erewa in a tweet, said the Nigerian High Commission in Uganda has made contact with the Ugandan authorities to effect their release.
