Super Eagles wide-forward Ademola Lookamn was on target not just once but twice as Atalanta demolished Salernitana 8-2 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
Lookman got his first goal in the 20th minute via a spot-kick as he restored Atlanta’s lead. Boulaye Dia had earlier equalized five minutes after Jeremie Boga’s opening goal.
The Nigerian winger got his second on the night via a well-taken shot from the edge of the box. Lookman also joined the assists list as he provided an assist for Brazilian striker Ederson who made it 7-2 for the home side.
Ademola Lookman was on for 90 minutes as Atalanta put an end to their 3-game home losing streak in the league.
The 25-year-old former Leicester City forward has now scored 9 league goals in 17 matches this season. He is just three goals shy of the top scorer, Victor Osimhen, his teammate in the Super Eagles who has 12 goals in 14 games.
Atalanta are currently sixth on the log with 34 points after 18 games.
