No less than 10 residents have been killed in the Igangan community of Oyo State after suspected Fulani Herdsmen attacked the town late Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning.
A source who spoke to Sahara Reporters identified two of the slain residents as Lekan and Ajani who he confirmed as farmers in the community.
It was also gathered that the suspected herdsmen killed one Captain Castron, an inhabitant of the community which led to crisis afterward.
Another source who spoke to Sahara Reporters said the Fulani herdsmen stormed the town at about 11 p.m on Saturday and operated until 3 a.m on Sunday.
The palace of the monarch in the town was also razed in the attack.

According to Olalekan Etu, a resident of the Ayete who is close to the families of the deceased farmers told Sahara Reporters confirmed the incident;
“Yes, it is true, many were killed. I know two of them who were very close to me. They arrived at Igangan around midnight and were killed. I am confirming it. Our hunter had gathered themselves to go into the bush now. We need g the government and real Yoruba people to come to our rescue now. ”
“Ibarapa is boiling now. These people (Fulani Herdsmen) are for a real. They have an agenda. We need to do something now. I know 10 people already who were killed. We may have other people too but for now, I know 10 people are gone”.
