At light-heavyweight is Israel Adesanya over-ambitious venturing out of his middleweight category?
UFC 259 features Nigerian-born New Zealand fighter Israel Adesanya taking on Jan Blachowicz in the early hours of Sunday, March 7th.
Adesanya has cleaned out the middleweight division of the UFC and decided to move up in weight class to light-heavyweight.
It all started with Adesanya getting into an altercation with Jon Jones who dominated the light-heavyweight division.
Adesanya took his time and is now the undisputed king of the middleweight division.
However, his decision to move up to light-heavyweight while Jones has already moved up to heavyweight is baffling.
Of Course, Adesanya will make history if he defeats Jan Blachowicz becoming the fifth fighter in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to be champions in multiple divisions.
One of Adseanya’s strengths at middleweight is because he is taller than most of his contemporaries but at light-heavyweight opponents are at his height and even bigger.
Time will tell if he is making a mistake moving up in weight and it all started tomorrow.
