The Super Eagles home based based – the CHAN Eagles played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the CHAN 2025 qualifier against Ghana in Accra.
The first leg of the match took place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening in an almost empty stadium as both sides slugged it out on the pitch.
The encounter was characterised with grit and less flair as expected as both sides look to gain control of the match.
However, the match opened up a bit in the second half as the Super Eagles came close to getting a goal.
Plateau United forward Adamu Abubakar shot from range hit the woodwork as Nigeria tried to get the opener against the run of play.
The Black Galaxies of Ghana created a few half chances but none troubled Ozeomena Ani who stood in between the sticks for the Super Eagles.
The match ended goalless and both teams will carry the hope of getting the job done in the second leg.
The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo will host the return fixture on 28 December and the winner will qualify for the 8th edition of the African Nations Championship next year..
