IPOB: UK Parliament to discuss Nnamdi Kanu’s rearrest and repatriation to Nigeria! 

The United Kingdom Parliament has announced that it will address the issues and circumstances surrounding the rearrest and extradition of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra. 

Nnamdi Kanu, who is also a British citizen, was reportedly arrested by a combined security team in an East African country and flown to Nigeria on the 29th of June.

The Biafran leader was arrested on grounds of treason and inciting violence in the country.

In a statement obtained from the website of the UK Parliament, it says it will deliberate upon ” the circumstances surrounding the transfer of Kanu to Nigeria against his will, ” among other issues. 

Lord Alton of Liverpool, according to the statement, will raise the motion for the discussion and he will also demand that the British Government provide answers on Nnamdi Kanu’s extradition to Nigeria. 

The statement read;

“To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of (1) the alleged role of the government of Kenya in the detention and alleged mistreatment of Nigerian activist Nnamdi Kanu, (2) the circumstances surrounding the transfer of Kanu to Nigeria against his will, and (3) of any assistance being provided to him by the High Commission in Abuja, ”
