Sanusi Lamido Mohammadu Sanusi II has been dethroned but the former Emir of Kano continues to dominate headlines in the national tabloids.

Just 24 hours after Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state appointed the deposed Emir of Kano as appointed the Vice-Chairman of Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA), Sanusi Lamido Mohammadu Sanusi II has now been appointed as the Chancellor of Kaduna state University (Kasu)

In a statement authorized by signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor (Media & Communication), Muyiwa Adekeye: the statement reads that the deposed Emir of Kano has agreed to serve as the Chancellor of the state University.

According to the statement: “The Kaduna State Government has named His Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University (KASU). He succeeds the pioneer Chancellor, His Highness, Malam Tagwai Sambo, the Chief of Moro’a, who was appointed to the role in 2005.”

On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is delighted to appoint His Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University. In public life, His Highness has demonstrated a strong commitment to education,”

With the two appointments of the former Emir, isn’t his dethronement a blessing in disguise?
