Portuguese powerhouse, FC Porto have completed the signing of Nigerian defender, Zaidu Sanusi on a five-year deal from Santa Clara.
The 2004 Champions League winners announced the arrival of Zaidu Sanusi via the official website as well as their verified twitter handle.
The 23-year-old becomes the third signing of the 29-time Portuguese Champions after the arrival of Cláudio Ramos and Carraça from Tondela and Boavista respectively as free agents.
Zaidu Sanusi arrived in Portugal in 2016 at Gil Vicente but was loaned for two seasons to Mirandela before the deal was made permanent in the 2018/2019.
He went on to join Santa Clara last season where he scored a goal and provided 3 assists in 29 appearances for the club in all competitions.
On joining Porto, he said;
“I’m really happy to be a FC Porto player. I don’t even know how to explain it, but I’m very, very happy to be wearing this shirt. ” Zaidu told his new club’s website in his first interview as Porto player.
He added: “I hope to do a good job and help the team. This season we will win everything.”
The club and the fans can expect everything from me. I received many messages from FC Porto fans and that made me very happy. ”
