A 14-year-old girl identified as Jumoke has been killed by a stray bullet fired by security operatives during the Yoruba Nation held in Lagos today.
The young girl was said to have been hit by the stray bullet while she was scampering for safety as security operatives tried to disperse the protesters.
According to an eyewitness at the Yoruba Nation Rally, the young girl displayed her plastic bottles of yogurt in front of her shop but ran for safety when gunshots were heard close by.
“We were running together, and we got to that spot; that was how the stray bullet hit her. She was beside me.”
