Former Nigeria Professional football League champions, Enyimba have qualified for the playoff round of the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup.
Enyimba defeated Senegalese side Diambars 3-0 at the Aba International Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they book their spot into the penultimate round before the group stage.
Tosin Omoyele, Victor Mbaoma, and Samuel Kalu got the goals for the home side as they recorded a 4-0 aggregate win over Diambars.
The Aba Elephants also continued their impressive record of not losing a return fixture in a knock-out round at home after winning the first leg.
Rivers United failed to score away at Al Hilal as they lost 1-0 to the Sudanese side. Rivers United has played a one-all draw against Al Hilal last weekend but failed to replicate or better the result as they crash out of the CAF Champions League qualifying round.
Enyimba’s opponent in the playoff round will be decided at a later date.
